Ah El Paso. When it rains here it REALLY rains. I somehow missed monsoon season when I lived here years ago (something about a historically dry couple years), so when I first heard the little pitter patter of raindrops on my roof, I was confused.
I love the rain. When we first moved to Georgia I got caught in a rainstorm almost right away. And despite the fact that it left both me and my groceries soaked, I loved it! Before that move I had been living in El Paso, the driest place I had ever lived, for years, and I welcomed the change
But I guess that was a fluke, because the pitter patter that I had been hearing turned into a full on rainstorm, complete with quite a bit of flooding in my area. Who knew?
The best part of this was Martibeth. She spotted a giant puddle that was really more like a lake at Album Park and thought it would be fun to play. As I've mentioned, rain and puddle jumping are totally my jam, so of course I was in!
She donned her rain boots (which I would've never thought were necessary in El Paso) and we had a blast!
She also brought sunflowers which happen to be my favorite flower, so really this session was an all around win. See it for yourself:
